Take a moment to learn a little bit about the amazing folks that will be working with you when you visit our clinic!

Dr. Kyle Farrell, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Farrell grew up in Central Florida and feels fortunate to always have cats and dogs as part of his family. He always found himself saving up his weekly allowance to buy food and treats for the stray cats in his neighborhood. He also looked forward to taking home Houdini, the class hamster, during summer and winter breaks each year during elementary school. The loyalty and affection that he learned from these animals made him realize that he ultimately wanted to dedicate his career to them.

After high school, he moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida on scholarship (Go Gators!), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology and a minor in Spanish. During this time, he also worked as a veterinary technician in order to gain invaluable experience in the field. He remained in Gainesville to attend the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, from which he graduated with honors in 2012.

Dr. Farrell then moved to Lake Mary to be closer to family and friends and has been practicing in the area since then. His biggest passion is strengthening the human-animal bond by creating lasting relationships with pets and their owners. His medical interests include dermatology, endocrinology, preventive care, and geriatric medicine. While he has a healthy respect for all animals, big and small, he prefers to focus his care on our canine and feline friends.

He met his now-husband, Edwin, in December of 2007 and have been together ever since. Edwin is from the Central American country of Panama, where they visit often, and he works locally in the finance/banking industry. They have an amazing son, also named Edwin, who is starting college this fall. When not studying or working, you can find him lifting weights at the gym, playing basketball, or hanging out with friends.

They currently have one dog, Ace, who is a 7-year-old Miniature Pinscher/Poodle mix. His favorite pastimes include sunbathing, napping, chasing lizards and squirrels, and car rides. Ace is very affectionate on his own terms and also has a variety of behavioral issues, which have given Dr. Farrell firsthand experience in the areas of separation anxiety and noise phobia. They recently lost their beloved Chihuahua, Gia, and are contemplating adopting another furry family member. Unfortunately, both Edwins are allergic to cats, so he gets his cat “fix” while he’s at work!

Dr. Farrell enjoys spending time with his loved ones, traveling the world (He’s visited 40+ countries), learning about cultures/languages, watching and playing tennis, enjoying good food, and binge-watching the occasional Netflix movie/series.
